Style: Traditional Built: 1940
Walking into this home for the first time was like walking back in time. The original kitchen, bath, decor (including furniture) and even the original owner were there to greet us and share a bit of its' history. We were extremely inspired and invested in this home's restoration by having an honest peek into its past.
To begin, the beautifully coved ceilings in the living room were repaired and all built-ins, including the original glass front cases in the formal dining room, were brought back to their original beauty. All hardwood floors were refinished and stained in a dark, rich espresso color that added a bit of formality.
Our attention turned to creating a spacious and modern eat-in kitchen that seamlessly integrated into the vintage style of the home. This was successfully accomplished by preserving some of the original cabinetry, adding simple wainscoting, and installing "period correct" fixtures. The addition of granite countertops and new stainless appliances took this kitchen to the next level without disturbing its 1940's aesthetic. The bathroom renovation was highlighted by the addition of an over-sized pedestal sink and beautifully honed carrera marble floors.
All new energy efficient windows were installed including four large casement windows that perfectly framed the Albany Hill view. Finally, the exterior of the home was painted in rich Bee Renovated colors including crisp white trim, mossy brown body and our signature "Spanish Tile Red" front door.
Our efforts were truly validated when the original owner returned to view our work with endless complements and remarks on how proud she was of our accomplishments and respect for the past.
